Geotechnical Boring

Cramped HB sessions mean cramped HB pages.
If you haven't seen the Mighty Boosh go Boosh yourself.

If you want to know what I'm really writing about there... it's what I do all day Thursday.
This girl came into the comic book store and spent a good two hours going through 10 cent magic cards. She ended up buying 60 cents worth of cards. As you can see we were super busy that day.

Water Bottle Blues

Quick sketches of Sid are a staple of my sketchbook.

Sometimes the nights are just too long...

Sprinkles of Light

I went to visit my Grandma while I was back home after the previous trip to the dentist's office and she was asleep. I sketched this quickly and then she somewhat came to. She didn't recognize me. She thought I was the doctor and was prescribing something to her and began asking me about her chest pain. I scribbled down a note that I had been there and she read it quizzically and asked if the nurses would be bringing her some medicine soon.

Sometimes I shouldn't write down what I'm thinking...
I actually know a guy that looks like the buff guy with skinny legs in the bottom left. And yes, he looks as funny as you think.

Bacon Drippings

This is written right page to left page for some reason. A lot of what's written in these pages is written really early in the morning and by the first morning's light.
Old people rock.

I like to listen in on people at restaurants. Especially when they're talking really loud about their problems and are too wrapped up to see me drawing.
The page on the left was done with a brush pen at the Student Center at UCI while the one on the right was done in the dentist's office with a ball point pen, I think she was there for her brother...
...this kid, who was eating a lollipop before his checkup.

The Blowtop

Here's the first set of images from the ol' moleskin. Expect more and more and more very soon. These will be in chronological order versus the zine which is in a particular order. Let me know what you think of them. I do tend to draw a lot of people sitting around and eating... cause that's what I'm generally doing too.
