Hometown Subterranean Blues

I went home to San Dimas for my sister's wedding and decided to walk down to the bowling alley for a few drinks (turns out the have shots of Black Label for 5 bucks). I ended up talking to a regular who looked homeless for something like two hours. He told me tons of stuff about having it all and then drinking it away. He got upset when he saw me writing down what he was saying.
Downtown San Dimas has wooden sidewalks and all the store fronts are made to look like an old west town. Needless to say there several antique shops on this strip and growing number of vacancies.
The Walker House in San Dimas just got remodeled for like the third time in my life. Still not sure what it's used for (tea parties or some ish like that), but I will probably never step in there.
City Hall was built in the 70s and it shows. I spent a lot of time here as a kid skating, reading, and going to community classes.
ACE Hardware: home of penny gumballs.

Tom Sawyer Soccer Stars

We play a lot of video games and that gives me a lot of time to draw Sid, Nolan, and Jansen.
The dude on the right was watching the UCI Women's Soccer Club play UCSB's team on a Sunday afternoon. UCI lost.
He's got club fingers that somehow function, but make him look more squirrely than other humans.
Sid and I rode bikes to the local library and I checked out an Aubrey Beardsley book and copied this ish. Another good day at the library.
Tom Sawyer Island and a whole bunch of deconstruction of self. I write amazingly straight for being that twisted.

Peanut Kabuki

Feeling a little Peanuts-y this day with a dash of trans-being involved.
Two words: Metron Sid.
This is not an Aubrey Beardsley. I wish I could remember who it was but, damn, it looks like a whimsical Beardsley.
A whole bunch of horribleness tossed onto a page
Sid FTW. Jansen Fail. (He didn't actually say that Kabuki thing, but it looks like he's thinking it.)

Twain Wide

I consider this a good day of sketching at Costco.
There's a lot going on on this page, but it's a good page. Lots of non-linear insanity...
Twain ride... I crack myself up.
The person on the left is from Wendy's. I decided straws are only useful for not having to move at all, not even your arm. Thus, the midsection cup table. I think it's practical and we'll be seeing everyone wearing these in a few years time... that is if the straw craze catches on.

Don't look too much at the Lady on the right, it's bad for your health.

Maple Bones

This may actually be Fashion Island and not South Coast Plaza. Eh. They're all the same: overpriced.
HB eyes.
That pizza recipe is the best thing that Jansen and I have ever come up with at Haus of Pizza. You have to try it fresh at least once. It's called Riding the Rainbow Down (we name all our specialty pizzas) because this pizza is godly and rides the rainbow down from Asgard to your plate in Midgard.
I suck at drawing Jansen, but that doesn't stop me from trying.
This was a good night at Paddy's. Most of it's me, but there's a little Nolan collabo in there.

Fill in the Lines

Cracked open a ball point pen and blew out the ink then moved it around with a push pin. Was a fun night.
Thursday.

All of my self-portraits come out lacking details.

Sun and Moon

Madonna and mis-spellings... I'm trying not to make them recurring themes.
Sometimes things get twisted.
When I sit out on the patio I tend to stare off at the moon and think about things. This thought was actually coherent and made its way onto the paper. And Lenny Kilmister is the man.
Just let your brain wander when you can.

Gobias some bees

I eat at In-N-Out near campus a lot and there's never any lack of people draw. The problem is finding time to eat, draw, read, and just sit.

I don't draw at work very often, but the last two pages were my last attempt at it.

BEES! Beads? BEES! Bzzz! We'll see who makes more honey.
